Over the weekend, an instance of home defense potentially saved two lives when an ex-boyfriend tried to force his way into his former girlfriend’s apartment in Gonzales, LA.
The Gonzales Police Department reported that a man tried to break into his ex’s apartment. The lady in question was not alone; her new boyfriend was present in the apartment too. The man attempted to break through the bedroom window. That is when someone inside the home fired at the suspect. He was admitted to the hospital after being shot multiple times but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the person who discharged the weapon has not yet been confirmed by the police.
What’s clear here, folks, is that the right to bear arms and being prepared with that right played an instrumental role in this situation. Who knows what might have transpired if the ex had managed to force his way into the apartment? His actions, as reported, were nothing short of aggressive and threatening. Being prepared and equipped with the means to protect oneself and one’s loved ones can be the difference between life and death.
At the time of this writing, no criminal charges have been laid against anyone involved in this incident. The shooting is still under investigation by the Gonzales Police Department.
Let this be a reminder to all of us about the value of being prepared. An armed citizenry is a safe citizenry. Stay safe, stay armed, and always be prepared to protect yourself and your loved ones.
