A man was fatally shot while trying to stop a theft at a Home Depot store in Pleasanton, CA, according to witnesses. Officers with the Pleasanton Police Department were on the scene, and the suspects were later detained in Oakland.
The incident occurred on April 18th inside a Home Depot store located at 6000 Johnson Drive. Witnesses reported that the victim attempted to stop a theft in progress, wherein a struggle ensued, and the man was shot. The two suspects were seen immediately driving away from the scene after the shooting.
Officers quickly caught up with the suspect’s vehicle. The chase ended at Ney Avenue in East Oakland. One man was detained along with a woman.
A Home Depot statement reads: “We’re heartbroken over this senseless tragedy. Blake was our associate and friend, and our hearts go out to his family and everyone who knew and loved him.
