MIAMI, FL – Three men are now facing serious charges following a dramatic armed robbery and subsequent shootout that occurred outside the Wynwood Brick House club in Miami. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, just before 2 a.m., at 178 Northwest 28th Street.
The suspects, identified as Quinton Price Charles and Julian Maurice Reid, both 21, along with 20-year-old Johmarrie Jaqayveis Taylor, were arrested and charged with attempted murder and armed robbery. The sequence of events unfolded as a club-goer was leaving the venue and approached his car, only to be confronted by the trio, who were armed and demanding valuables.
According to arrest reports, the situation escalated quickly when one of the suspects allegedly declared, “You know what it is!” while pointing a weapon at the victim and demanding his money and jewelry. In a daring act of self-defense, the victim managed to wrest a gun from one of the robbers and exchanged gunfire with the other two.
A second witness to the robbery intervened by shouting at the suspects, prompting one of them, who was armed with an assault rifle and wearing a ski mask, to open fire. The suspects attempted to flee the scene but were thwarted when the second victim used his vehicle to block their exit. In their desperation to escape, the suspects rammed his vehicle and then attempted to flee on foot.
Miami Police quickly responded to the scene, establishing a perimeter which ultimately led to the apprehension of all three suspects. Officers recovered a firearm, a mask, and the stolen jewelry. The quick actions of the victims and the swift response by law enforcement prevented any injuries during this perilous confrontation.
The suspects were subsequently booked into jail, where they are being held without bond. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of crime in nightlife areas and the courage displayed by ordinary citizens in the face of danger.
