In Tampa, Florida, a security guard has become a hero following his swift actions in response to an armed man attempting to enter a world-famous strip club in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Manny Resto, the security guard in question, noticed the individual wearing a devil mask and carrying a handgun approaching the club’s entrance. Resto quickly intervened and engaged in a physical struggle with the armed suspect, preventing him from gaining access to the club.
During the altercation, the suspect dropped his gun which Resto promptly picked up and aimed at the perpetrator. Despite the suspect tackling Resto, he was ultimately overpowered by a group of individuals and was hit in the head with his own weapon.
Resto’s situational awareness was instrumental in preventing a potentially tragic event from occurring, and his quick thinking and heroic actions have been widely praised.
The club was reportedly occupied by around 200 people at the time of the incident, and the suspect, identified as Michael Rudman, was subsequently taken into police custody. Rudman has a history of mental health issues and domestic violence, according to law enforcement officials.
