In the latest news from Springfield Armory®, we’re excited to announce the arrival of their much-anticipated 1911 Operator® 9mm. This hardy, duty-grade pistol is a welcome addition to the already impressive Springfield Armory lineup.
The 1911 Operator was previously available in .45 ACP, and now, this new 9mm version retains all the features that made the original model a favorite among firearm enthusiasts. The pistol boasts a Tactical Rack rear/tritium front sight set, sturdy G10 VZ Grips®, an ambidextrous safety, and forward slide serrations. The package comes complete with two magazines, each fitted with bumper pads and an increased capacity of nine rounds, thanks to the new 9mm chambering.

Designed to withstand the harshest conditions, the Operator features a low-profile black Cerakote finish on its forged steel slide and frame. This ensures not only protection against the elements but also the durability to provide a lifetime of service. Additionally, an integrated Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover lets users customize the pistol with the light, laser, or combo unit of their choice.
The 5″ fully supported ramped match-grade barrel, constructed from forged stainless steel, promises maximum durability and performance. The traditional barrel bushing allows for tool-free takedown in the field, adding to the pistol’s practicality.
