SAN ANTONIO, TX — A 34-year-old man successfully defended himself against two armed robbers in the early hours of Sunday morning despite being outnumbered. The incident took place around 3:50 a.m. in the 200 block of Ranch Valley Drive, where the victim was confronted by two suspects who attempted to rob him at gunpoint.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), both suspects were armed when they approached the victim. Faced with a life-threatening situation and outnumbered two to one, the victim managed to draw his own firearm and shoot both suspects in self-defense.
Following the altercation, one of the suspects was found at the scene and required medical attention for a gunshot wound. The second suspect fled but later appeared at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his waist. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed, and it is unclear whether the suspects are currently in custody.
The SAPD is investigating the case as an aggravated robbery, as the two men were reportedly armed and in the process of attempting to rob the victim when he defended himself.
This incident underscores the importance of being prepared to protect oneself, particularly when faced with multiple assailants. While being outnumbered can present a significant disadvantage, situational awareness and the ability to respond quickly and effectively can turn the tide in such dangerous encounters.
