LOUISVILLE, KY – A woman came to the rescue of her husband after seeing a man holding a gun to his head on their front lawn.
A man drove onto his ex-girlfriend’s parents’ front lawn around 6:30 PM last Tuesday. The ex’s father was outside at the time. The suspect got out of his vehicle and held a gun to his head. The victim’s wife saw this taking place while he was inside their home.
She armed herself with a handgun, ran outside to come to the aid of her husband, and shot once, hitting the suspect in the head. When the police arrived on the scene, they found the suspect lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
It is unclear what provoked the attack as the ex-girlfriend did not live at the home.
Thankfully, the couple had a firearm in the house that the wife was able to access and stop the threat to her husband. But this should also be a reminder to us that bad things can happen at any time, even on your front lawn. So while you might think it inconvenient to strap your gun on to, for example, take out the trash or do some gardening, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
I always have a gun if I set foot outside the house. Mowing the lawn, BBQing, or doing yard work, I am armed. Usually, it’s my CZ75.
