Wisconsin Carry Supporters, Detractors Weigh in on Bill

At a packed public hearing at the state Capitol on Thursday, supporters and opponents weighed in on a bill all that would allow residents to carry concealed weapons.

Republican legislators are pushing two measures allowing concealed carry. One bill requires a permit to carry a concealed weapon and the other bill doesn’t, and neither requires training. Rep. Jeff Mursau, a Crivitz Republican, chief author of both proposals, began a standing-room-only public hearing before the Assembly’s criminal justice committee that people must be allowed to defend themselves.

Even some law enforcement officials are diverging over whether the proposed legislation is good policy, and they shared their thoughts with lawmakers Thursday.

I hope WI is successful, but going from no CCW straight to CC without training…..it will probably be shot down. It doesn’t matter how many people already own guns or open carry OR how much training THEY have, the people will only hear key words like GUNS & NO TRAINING! Good luck WI, you’ll need it., but going from no CCW straight to CC without training…..it will probably be shot down. Support The 2nd

If the “Lower Taxes,” “Less Bureaucracy,” “Smaller Government,” “Reduce Spending” Republicans vote for a “Larger Government,” “More Spending,” “More Bureaucracy,” and “Higher Taxes” they will hand the legislature and the governors mansion to the Democrats for the next 20 years.

“No Permit” carry IS in the WI State GOP platform, are they going to abandon their platform?  The Dems will be calling them Flip-Floppers for years to come if they do that.
