Criminals have a lot to worry about these days. Wondering if someone is armed in a home you are planning to rob can be a top source of workplace stress. Unfortunately for this young burglar, she picked the wrong house.
A 23-year-old female attempted to break into a home in Livingston Parish, LA, around 2 AM this past Sunday. The homeowners awoke to a “popping” sound from their carport—one of the homeowners armed themselves with their home defense gun.
There aren’t any details of the confrontation, but the armed homeowner shot the burglar twice in the leg and hip. The suspect was taken to the hospital, treated for her gunshot wounds, released, and then booked in jail, all on the same day. She faces charges of aggravated burglary, burglary from a vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and illegal use of weapons.
Crime doesn’t pay. And we, as responsibly armed citizens, must ensure we are ready for anything at any time of the day. Stay armed. Be prepared.
