Alien Gear Holsters recently launched their new ShapeShift Modular Holster System that launched with holsters for IWX, OWB Paddle, OWB Slide and Appendix Carry. During their initial announcement about this system at Shot Show 2017, they also talked about other mounts they would be releasing after the initial release, one of them being a drop leg holster. Well last week they announced that they are now selling the drop leg holster system. You can also carry spare magazines on either side of the holster if you choose to get their magazine buckets.
Some of you may think, “Why would I need a drop leg holster?” Well some of you may not. I am particularly interested in getting one to test out while I am hunting and working at my hunting lease. For now I just carry using an OWB holster but it can sometimes get in the way when I’m sitting in my deer stand and a few times I’ve made more noise than I wanted to when it hit against an aluminum chair in one of the stands.

Carrying with a drop leg holster is convenient and presents a tactical advantage. The hand rests where the drop leg holster sits, allowing a rapid draw, and the location of the drop leg frees up the waist.
