Charges against a 37-year-old man who shot an intruder who had entered his St. Louis, MO home have been declined, with the shooting determined to be self-defense and covered by the “castle doctrine.”
The shooting occurred at approximately 4:20 PM. Responding officers arrived to find a man, shot multiple times, not breathing. He was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
In an interesting twist, a 31-year-old woman, who had been at home with the homeowner, was arrested as an accomplice in the robbery. It was determined that she had texted the burglar, notifying him of the presence of guns and cash at the home and identifying it as a suitable location to rob. She was charged with burglary in the first degree and murder in the second degree.
Just a word of caution; be careful who you invite into your home and who you let know you own firearms, cash, etc.
She was probably a pro.
