This one was too good not to share. John Lovell of Warrior Poet Society was traveling this past weekend. He was flying with guns because “that’s how he rolls.” So when he got his checked suitcase back which had his weapons in it, he found that Delta had zip-tied it shut. Or at least that’s what the Delta employee thought. All they did was zip-tie one handle to the other handle, which obviously doesn’t stop anyone from opening the suitcase. And what is even the point? If someone wants to get to their gun after traveling with it, they will get to it. A zip-tie isn’t stopping anyone.
I fly across the country once a week, and this hasn’t happened to me in some time. But when it does, I just go right into the bathroom, cut the zip-tie off with my trauma sheers, open the case, and then strap my gun on. I always have the sheers with me along with my trauma kit, which is all TSA compliant.

Thanks for letting them know, John. I guess next time they will wrap it with Gorilla tape or something. Or maybe they will just ban guns in luggage…
