Due to the pandemic, expired Florida concealed weapon licenses were previously extended until June 26, 2021. Additionally included in this extension were Class G and Class D security licenses.
“Any license that expired during the order period will no longer be considered valid after June 26, 2021,” said Escambia County Tax Collector Scott Lunsford. “You can not legally carry a concealed weapon with an expired license.”
The pandemic has already caused delays in CCW being issued and renewals so get in line as soon as possible if you have not already Florida folks. This goes for those as well in other states around the country. Do you know when your CCW license is set to expire? Or better yet, any other of your licenses? Best to get them renewed as soon as you can especially with the country gradually “opening” back up.
Those having issues with the end of this executive order mention how it conflicts with our constitutional rights. While that can be arguable, we as responsible gun owners must know what we apply for when obtaining a CCW license, so don’t wait until the last minute, most notably when you’ve had all the extended time to get a renewal.
