While the rising prices of fossil fuels may make coal an attractive option for a stocking stuffer, the fact is that gun lovers tend to want new and interesting gifts for the holidays. And this has been an exciting year for the firearms industry, with a great many new models and options flooding the market for the shooters of this nation to explore.
This is of course only a small sampling of the many, many options available. And to be honest, this is mostly a list of the ones I found most interesting. If you’ve noticed something else that you think is worth mentioning, please share it in the comments, preferably with a hotlink to the manufacturer’s site. I love to see your ideas, faithful reader—and who knows? You might help someone find the perfect gift for their significant other.

The DP-12
A new offering from Standard Manufacturing, the DP-12 nearly has to be seen to be believed. A pump action bullpup double-barrel 12 gauge with a 16 (!) round capacity, this is yet another step in the evolution of the shotgun. We’ve seen similar weapons from companies like Kel-Tec, but rarely have they gotten this much attention. It’ll be distributed through Cheaper Than Dirt!, so we’re not sure how and where it’ll be available. With a host of features and potential accessories, this gift will give you bragging rights for Christmases to come.
Palmetto State Armory PSA AK-47
I’ve shot several PSA rifles at a variety of price points, and I have to say that Palmetto State puts out a great product. Their US-made AK pattern rifles are getting a lot of attention, offering a high standard of quality from a proudly American manufacturer.
ATI Polymer 1911
I’m cheating a bit on this one—it hasn’t been released yet—but if you’re willing to give your loved one an IOU this could be a landmark gift. A perhaps delayed response to the polymer and multicaliber crazes, this 1911 features classic Browning ergonomics along with ultralightweight polymer construction. This is interesting enough, but the manufacturer also promises that the weapon will be able to easily change calibers between 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP. If it follows ATI’s tradition of affordable, functional weapons, this could be a game changer.
Mesa Tactical Mohawk Modular Forend
A high-speed accessory for Remington’s popular Versa Max shotguns, the Mohawk offers a host of features for both home defense and competition shooting. Options for mounting accessories or slings abound, making this a serious step toward customizing your own shotgun. A must-have for the scattergun lover in your life.
C-MAG BETA MAG
Like GLOCK, this product name should always been in all-caps. You may hate them, you may think they’re impractical, you may know—know!–that they’re toys. But deep down inside you want a 100 round magazine for your military-pattern rifle. C-MAG’s got you covered, and I promise not to judge you. Get out there and have some fun.
Streamlight 88040 ProTAC Tactical Flashlight
While guns get a lot of attention, a great tactical flashlight is a unique and thoughtful gift. And Streamlight’s ProTAC is a bright, durable flashlight that gets the most out of its batteries and LED. With three different operating modes, this pocket friendly light is EDC ready.
Well, we’ve at least got you started, and hopefully given you some ideas. If you need more, check out our articles about EDC setups. Everyone needs a new multi-tool. Let us know what you find under your tree this Christmas. Until then, enjoy your holidays and be safe out there!
