Livery drivers would be able to pack heat — like kooky cabbie Travis Bickle in “Taxi Driver” — if an industry group gets its way.
Livery Base Owners has asked the Taxi and Limousine Commission to let drivers bring their licensed guns to work with them to protect themselves from would-be robbers and violent passengers.
The call to arms was made during discussions with the TLC as it fashions rules for its five-borough taxi plan, according to records obtained by the Daily News.
