I attended the 2016 SHOT Show range day and got a look at a few new guns that will be headed to your store shelves soon. We will also be reviewing them to give you some perspective on them and what we think of them.
Walther
We took a look at Walther’s new MC2 PPS M2. It was very nice to shoot and easy to handle. As always, Walther’s ergonomics are top notch. We’ll be taking a closer look at this model on the coming weeks.
We also got to take a few shots with Walther’s one and only .45 caliber pistol, the PPQ 45. My first impressions are all good. This gun follows right in line with the ergonomics, but adds, in my view, a superior trigger. We’ll be getting one of these soon, as well.
Kimber
Kimber has announced it’s new revolver called the K6s. It is a hammerless design with a 2” barrel and snag-free design that appears to have been designed with concealed carry in mind. It is chambered in .357 magnum/.38 Special and it is striking. We shot it and were impressed with the overall feel and accuracy of the gun, not to mention its good looks. Visit your Kimber dealer soon to get one on order.
Standard Manufacturing’s DP-12
Although we did not get a chance to fire one of these here at the range, I will be reviewing this double-barrel, 12 gauge pump-action shotgun in the next couple of weeks. This monster looks like something out of the movies! See for yourself.
FNH USA
Our friends at FNH have been busily working away on guns you should seriously consider when deciding on your first (or next) concealed handgun purchase. The FNS-9 Compact is an easy shooting gun with great ergonomics. In addition, it is striker fired with a double-action to stage trigger that is smooth and re-sets fast. This is another gun that you’ll be reading about here in the coming weeks.
That’s four manufacturers and five guns we’re excited about. We’ll be heading to the show tomorrow to get a look at what else the manufacturer’s brought to the show this year.
