WASILLA, AK – A home burglar is dead after the homeowners came home and caught him in the act.
A husband and wife found a 22-year-old man in their home around 9 AM this past Sunday. The suspect was burglarizing their home when a confrontation ensued. The suspect stabbed the husband in the arm with a buck knife.
The wife retrieved a .44 Magnum handgun and, in self-defense of her husband, fired once, hitting the suspect.
When the police and emergency services arrived at the home, they attempted to treat the suspect, but he died on the scene. The husband was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening injury, the knife stab in the arm.
It is unclear if the homeowners were away and arrived to find the suspect in their home or if they were already in the house when the suspect broke in. Either way, thankfully, the husband and wife had a firearm in the home to protect themselves, or else this could have ended tragically worse.

It’s always unfortunate when there’s a loss of life. But in this incident, the homeowners were within their rights to defend themselves. This event demonstrates why we have the 2nd Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms. I challenge anyone to disagree with this common sense premise.
