I’d say this would be considered a Dumb Gunowner of the Day story, but the woman that fired the gun in this incident was a felon that wasn’t supposed to have a gun in the first place.
There are conflicting stories of what took place, but the probable one is where a woman’s fiance and brother were arguing in a Montana trailer park around 10 PM.
Hoping to stop the fight, the woman fired a shot from a 9mm handgun in the air. Remember, warning shots are never a good idea.
The round she shot wound up cutting a fiber optic internet line overhead, causing over $10,000 in damages. What’s worse? That knocked out the internet for the whole trailer park!
The police got a search warrant and found a loaded 9mm handgun hidden in a laundry basket. There were juveniles in the house at the time as well—tons of wrongs in this story.
Rightfully so, the woman is currently being charged with felony criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
I think we can all easily point out everything that went wrong in this story. Felon with a gun. Firing warning shots into the air. Having a loaded firearm where children can access it.
