It is one thing to wake to a bump in the night but to wake to your own son assaulting his mother is something I couldn’t imagine.
A 75-year-old Texas man awoke around 2 AM yesterday only to see his son assaulting his wife, the son’s mother. According to the police, the son hit his mother in the head with a liquor bottle and then advanced toward his father. Feeling that his life was being threatened, the man shot his son in the chest.
When the police arrived on the scene, they found the wounded son and pronounced him dead. The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries and is expected to recover.
Having to shoot your own son in self-defense is unimaginable. But if the son was willing to hit his mother in the head with a liquor bottle which could cause severe injuries, he could only assume his son was about to do the same thing to him or worse. Luckily, the father was armed and able to defend himself.
