An armed citizen intervened in a dangerous situation at a shopping center on the Las Vegas Strip involving a suspect with a knife.
According to police documents, Letrelle Calhoun, 22, threatened employees of a store in the Fashion Show Mall with a large butcher knife. The police were notified of the incident. While officers were en route, three mall security officers found the man “flashing a knife” in another area of the mall and attempted to detain the suspect.
The suspect threatened to kill the security officers and lunged at them. An armed bystander saw this, drew his gun, and held the suspect at gunpoint, allowing the security officers to disarm and handcuff him. The suspect faces a charge of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
