I’m sure by now you’ve heard that Elon Musk will be buying the social media network Twitter for $44 Billion. Once the sale has been completed, Twitter will become a privately held company.
So why does the world’s richest man, who owns Tesla and SpaceX, want to buy Twitter? Well, he stated that it is because he is a free speech absolutist.
“Well, I think it’s very important for there to be an inclusive arena for free speech,” Musk said. “Twitter has become kind of the de facto town square, so it’s just really important that people have both the reality and the perception that they are able to speak freely within the bounds of the law.”

So how will this affect those of us in the firearm industry? I’m sure you are aware, but it is very hard for us to get our messages heard by our followers on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. Shadowbans, demonetization, and throttling posts are normal occurrences for us now. My followers barely see some posts I make on Facebook. I can’t even handle a firearm on our live concealed carry show CCX2 because it is against the TOS for YouTube and Facebook.
I can only hope that this will make Twitter an easier place for us to do business and reach our followers without the constant restrictions. I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, follow us on Twitter. We regularly post links to our articles but will start adding more content over there for our followers.
