From the creators of the legendary UZI, IWI brings us a full-size striker-fired pistol, the IWI Masada. Sootch00 got his hands on one and gives us his usual thorough review. He puts a little over 500 rounds through the pistol with zero malfunctions whatsoever. Not a bad start.
And what makes this pistol different from the rest of the full-size striker-fired pistols on the market? Well, what stands out to me is that it comes in an optics-ready package for roughly $100 less than a Glock 17/19 MOS. MSRP of the IWI Masada is $480.
Some of the other IWI Masada features include:
- 17+1 round capacity
- Fully ambidextrous with controls on both sides, not swappable controls
- A micro-textured grip that isn’t too aggressive
- Three different sized swappable backstraps
- Front and rear serrations
- Steel three-dot dovetail sights
Comparing it to a full-size Glock, the barrel is closer in size to a Glock 19. The grip on the IWI Masada is thinner than the Glock and is actually closer to the H&K VP9. But IWI was able to squeeze in two more rounds than the VP9.
It also has a serialized chassis system that allows you to put the chassis into different frames.
