UK Citizen in Massachusetts Sues Over State Gun Laws

Police Chief Mark Leahy last week filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in which he is named as a defendant.

Northborough resident Eoin Pryal, a legal immigrant from the United Kingdom, filed a lawsuit in April with another immigrant from Cambridge and two gun rights groups alleging that the state law barring immigrants from possessing handguns and large-capacity weapons is unconstitutional.

Pryal says he filed an application with the Northborough Police Department for a pistol permit and was denied. But Leahy says he never received such an application and had never heard of Pryal before being sued.

  • If hes not a felon and hes in the country LEGALLY then give him his damn permit. 

    • US Citizens who are residents of MA are denied their permits on a regular basis, NOBODY has any “Rights” in that state, I know I’m from there. Let alone Non-Citizens. Here legally or not. MA’s practices aside, The Constitution was written to protect US CITIZENS from their Government. The state does allow non-citizens the privilege to carry, there’s a separate app for it whether their approved or not is besides the point. They do not have the “Right” to keep and bear arms until they become citizens.
